Products Description
Fiber optic jumpers refer to optical fibers directly connected to desktop computers or devices to facilitate device connection and management. Used for jumper wiring from equipment to fiber optic cabling links. It has a thick protective layer and is generally used for the connection between optical terminals and terminal boxes.
Fiber optic jumpers are similar to coaxial cables, but do not have a mesh shielding layer. The center is a glass core of light propagation. In multimode optical fibers, the diameter of the core is 15 μ M~50 μ m. Roughly equivalent to the thickness of human hair. And the diameter of the single-mode fiber core is 8 μ M~10 μ m. The outer layer of the core is surrounded by a glass envelope with a lower refractive index than the core to keep the optical fiber inside the core. The outer layer is a thin plastic jacket, using.
Fiber optic jumpers can be divided into common single-mode and multimode jumpers for silicon based fibers based on different transmission media, as well as other fiber optic jumpers using plastic as the transmission medium; According to the structure of the connector, it can be divided into various forms: FC ST LC MTRJ MPO MU SMA FDDI E2000 DIN4 D4 SC Fiber Patch Cords so on. Common fiber optic jumpers can also be divided into FC-FC, FC-SC, FC-LC, FC-ST, SC-SC, SC-ST, etc.

Main Features
1- Insertion Loss: This is the core indicator of optical signal attenuation after passing through the SC Fiber Patch Cords. A typical value should be ≤0.3 dB, with high-quality patch cords achieving ≤0.2 dB or even lower. Excessive loss can lead to insufficient signal strength.
2- Return Loss: This measures the degree to which the optical signal is reflected back to the light source from the connection end. A higher value is better.
3- APC type patch cords: Typically require ≥60 dB due to their beveled design, which greatly reduces reflection.
4- UBC type patch cords: Typically require ≥50 dB.
5- Operating Wavelength: Must match your optical module and equipment. Common wavelengths are 850nm, 1310nm, 1490nm, and 1550nm. Multimode systems commonly use 850nm, while single-mode systems commonly use 1310nm and 1550nm.
6- Durability: High-quality SC Fiber Patch Cords typically have a connector mating life of over 1000 cycles and can withstand certain tensile and torsional forces.
Practical Selection Guide
"Matching the Right Port": The most reliable method is to check the port of the device you are connecting to. If the device has a green SC port, you must use an SC-APC patch cord; if it's blue, choose SC-UPC. Never mix APC and UPC, otherwise it will cause a significant increase in connection loss and may damage the end face.
Never Mix Modes: Single-mode and multimode fiber have completely different core diameters and optical transmission principles. Mixing them is strictly prohibited, otherwise it will result in complete failure or extremely high loss.
Length and Material:
Length: Measure the distance accurately, leaving appropriate slack (e.g., for coiling), but avoid excessive length to prevent clutter.
Sheath: PVC is generally suitable for indoor use; for server rooms or shafts, flame-retardant LSZH (low smoke halogen-free) material is recommended; for harsh environments, armored patch cords are recommended, which are resistant to compression and rodent damage.
