Cable Usage
The central cross braid rotates as the cable length changes, securing the four twisted pairs within the braid's grooves. This maintains the relative position of the four twisted pairs, improving cable balance and crosstalk attenuation. Furthermore, the cable's balanced structure must be maintained during installation. Category 6 unshielded twisted-pair cable has a bare copper wire diameter of 0.57mm and an insulation diameter of 1.02mm. The diameter of the UTP cable is 6.53mm. Thicker wire diameter is preferred for signal stability.

The main differences between Category 5e and CAT6 UTP Lan Cable are as follows:

Bandwidth: Category 5e has a bandwidth of 155 Mbps, while Category 6 has a bandwidth of 250 Mbps.

Transmission Rate: Category 5e can be used in Fast Ethernet with a speed of 100 Mbps; Category 6 can be used in Gigabit Ethernet with a speed of up to 1000 Mbps.

Structural Difference: Category 6 cable has an insulated cross-ribbon with the four twisted-pair pairs placed in four grooves. Category 5e, on the other hand, has only a white, tensile-resistant filament in the center.

Diameter Difference: The bare copper wire diameter of Category 6 unshielded twisted-pair cable is 0.57 mm (wire gauge 23 AWG), the insulation wire diameter is 1.02 mm, and the UTP cable diameter is 6.53 mm.
