The cable model represents the characteristics, number of cores, and cross-sectional area of the cable, and is an important reference data for cable selection. The letters and numbers of each cable have special meanings. The cable model consists of eight parts:
Usage code - not labeled as power cable, K is control cable, P is signal cable.
Insulation code - Z oil immersed paper, X rubber, V polyvinyl chloride, YJ cross-linked polyethylene.
Conductor material code - not labeled as copper, L is aluminum.
Inner protective layer code - Q lead package, L aluminum package, H rubber sleeve, V polyvinyl chloride sheath.
Derived code - D does not drip, P is dry insulated.
Outer protective layer code.
Special Product Code - TH Wet Tropics, TA Dry Tropics.
Rated voltage - unit KV.
There are many types of cables. Taking VV cable as an example, VV cable is a power cable with two layers of plastic skin wrapped in copper core. The two V's in the name represent polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which is a common plastic material. One serves as insulation for the inner liner and the other as protective for the outer jacket.
